Design Teaching & Learning - 3.3 Completion of the unit Designing, Teaching & Learning saw skills being refined in implementing and altering strategies to meet the needs of a wide range of learners. In Assessment 2 of this unit, an existing lesson plan was analysed and modified to be suitable for a wide range of students from diverse linguistic, cultural, religious and socioeconomic backgrounds. Moreover, an emphasis on implementing collaborative learning and ICT based strategies were prioritised to meet the educational needs of a modern student learner. |
Professional Practice 2 -3.5 As I have grown as an educator and became more confident, I was able to take more notice of intricate aspects of the classroom. In contrast to my first practical experience, during this practicum I was able to notice and acknowledge that students who were off task in most cases were finding work, too difficult, too easy of not engaging. During that time I was able to meet the graduate requirements for Standard 3.5, using effective communication through lesson intentions and managing classroom climate and task completion. Over the six weeks I continued to grow my pedagogical practice and approach as I began to know the students and how their learning preference. From this I altered my approach, including more student directed learning, interactive videos and ICT activities to break up the learning and clearly highlighting the use of the lesson or skill being learnt during the beginning of the lesson when stating the lesson intentions. |
